U.S. Recalls / Hannaford Supermarkets

Hannaford Supermarkets is recalling two products sold in the bakery section because they may contain nuts that are not listed on the product packaging label. Individuals who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to any nuts may run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction should they consume these items.

Hannaford Supermarkets is alerting customers that, because of a label printing error, Red Velvet Cake Truffle and Triple Chocolate Cake Truffle sold at its stores in the bakery department, may have contained undeclared allergens. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg, milk, peanuts, wheat, soy and tree nuts should not consume these products.

On Saturday, Burch Farms of North Carolina announced a recall of Athena cantaloupes because the product may contain listeria monocytogenes. No illnesses have been associated with this recall, according to Burch Farms.

SCARBOROUGH, Maine – Hannaford Supermarkets today alerted customers to a recall issued by New Jersey-based Buona Vita Inc. of three meatball products, due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes.The three products are all sold through the deli department: Homestyle Meatballs with Sauce, sold by the pound; Meatball Panini - cold, UPC # 941260723096; and Meatball Panini - hot, UPC # 94126072102.

Hannaford Supermarkets is notifying consumers today that Hannaford brand Mini Frosted Cookies contain egg as an ingredient. The Mini Frosted Cookies in 10-ounce packages (UPC # 4126872374) with labels that did not list egg as an ingredient have been removed from shelves at Hannaford stores.
